A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Ann’s R. C. Church, North Line Street, Frackville. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the start of Mass on Friday at Saint Ann’s R. C. Church. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville; Divine Liturgy with Burial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. in St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Frackville with Rev.Petro Zvarych, as celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with Parastas at 7 p.m., at the funeral home and again from 8:30 to 9:30 Monday morning. Interment will be in St. Michaels Parish Cemetery, Englewood/Frackville.

Eleanor V. Achenbach, 86, of Frackville, passed away Wednesday at her residence.
Born in Morea she was a daughter of the late Emil and Julia Brach Micun. She was a graduate of Frackville High School. She was member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Parish, the Frackville Senior Citizens and American Legion Post #398 Ladies Auxiliary, all of Frackville. In addition to her parents she was preceded by, sisters; Florence Sienkiewicz, Cecelia Micun, Theresa E. Dembroski and Genevieve C. Micun; brothers; Emil Micun, Jr. Leonard Micun and Walter Swistak; she was the last member of her immediate family. Eleanor is survived by three sons; Vincent Achenbach and his wife Tammy, Mechanicsville, VA; Allen Achenbach; at home, Frackville; and Joseph Achenbach and his wife Dorene, Frackville; Granchildren Jared, Nicole, Vincent, Jr., Sara and Dana Achenbach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday in St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Frackville with Rev. Robert Finlan, pastor, as celebrant. Angeline R. Deramo, 88, of Palo Alto, passed away peacefully Tuesday at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg, with her family by her side.
Born in Pottsville, November 23, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Mariano and Angeline Julian LaPlaca. She was a graduate of Pottsville High School, class of 1945. Angeline was a member of St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church, Port Carbon and a member of the former St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, Pottsville where she was a part-time secretary and member of the Ladies Guild and Choir. She worked at the former Pomeroy’s Credit Office, the former Warne Hospital Switchboard, Ansatel Answering Service, the James J. Leone Co., Earned Income Tax Office, all of Pottsville; and was a former Palo Alto Tax Assessor. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John J. Deramo, in 2002; sisters; Mary Howell, Catherine and Caroline LaPlaca and Domenica Riotto; brothers; John, Albert, Frank and Joseph LaPlaca. She was the last member of her immediate family. Angeline is survived by daughters; Debra J. McDonald, Palo Alto, Susanne G. Dermo, North Manheim, Twp. and son; Ronald D. Dermo and his wife Donna, Pottsville; 4 grandchildren; Ryan G. and Justin M. McDonald and Roni and Randi Dermo; several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning at St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church, Port Carbon, con-celebrated by Rev. Msgr. William F. Glosser, and Rev. Edward B. Connolly. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Robert A Evans Funeral Home, 208 Pike St., Port Carbon. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hillside, Pottsville.
