Obituaries
Born in Ashland Hospital he was a son of the late Wilfred and Melva Fellows Thomas. He was a graduate of Frackville High School, class of 1964.
Bob was a U.S Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and attained the rank of Sergeant; he served with the 6200 Supply Squadron.
He worked as a dispatcher for the Pennsylvania State Police and was a former Frackville Police Officer; he also worked at the former Zapata Industries, Frackville.
Bob served the Frackville community as a volunteer firefighter with the Good Will Hose Company, No.1, Frackville for 58 years; He served as Fire Chief for over 12 years and was Assistant Fire Chief for more than 20 years; he was a past President of the Schuylkill County Fireman’s Association and a former instructor at the Pennsylvania Fire Academy.
He was also a member of the Friendship Fire Company, Englewood; Schuylkill Fire Historical Society; the Frackville Community Ambulance Association; a former Warden for the DCNR; a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #1533, Frackville and the F&AM Masonic Lodge, Pottsville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Amy McClintock, in 2018.
Bob is survived by his wife of 25 years; Stephanie Hawranick Thomas; his pride and joy grandsons; Jordan Klimas, Mt. Carmel and Devin McClintock, Girardville; a sister; Diane Robbins; several nephews, several great nephews and many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 3:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday evening at the Good Will Hose Company No.1, Frackville; Religious Services will be held at 5:00 pm. Interment with Military Honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
