Betty P. (Knittle) Eichelberger, 85, a lifelong resident of Frackville, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning at the home of her niece in Frackville. Born in Frackville March 1, 1929, she was a daughter of the late John and Ruth Hampton Knittle. Betty was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ. Frackville, and a 50-year member of the Eastern Star. A graduate of Frackville High School, Betty began her working career soon after graduating and was a secretary for 17 years at Frackville High School; she then worked as a teller and clerk for 27 years, retiring from the Meridian Bank; and last worked as a cashier for Boyer’s IGA, all of Frackville. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Martin S. Eichelberger; sisters; Edna Moyer, Grace Bretz and Evelyn Orlowsky; and brothers; John and Lloyd Knittle. She is survived by a brother Kenneth Knittle, Frackville, and many loving nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Gravesite Services will be private and at the convenience of the family in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Frackville. Donations in Betty’s name can be made to St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 21 S. Nice St., Frackville, PA 17931.
