Born in Ashland, and lifelong resident of Frackville, Lew was a son of the late Angelo F. and Adele (Aleknavage) Jordan. He was a graduate of the former Frackville High School, class of 1964. He attended McCann’s School of Business. From the time he was nine, he performed as a member of the Jordan Brothers band in which he was the lead guitarist, singer and composer of music and lyrics, both for the band and independently. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War as an active reserve. He also worked as an insurance agent and a corrections officer. He had an impressive work ethic and always worked towards ‘finding the balance’ between work, sleep and play, maybe not always successfully.  But he always made sure to find time for enjoyment and laughter. 

Alongside his loving wife, Deno, Lew enjoyed traveling to many locations including Egypt, Italy, Mexico, Ireland, Hawaii, Canada, Arizona, Aruba and spent many happy vacations with his children and grandchildren in Orlando, FL. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his family and friends. He also had a passion for the outdoors and spent quality time at his cabin: hunting, shooting, storytelling, playing his guitar, drinking coffee and cooking over an open fire.

Lew shared his positive energy with all who knew him and could make even the most difficult situations more bearable through his humor and caring ways. He never complained despite having lived through an array of challenges. He always saw the good in people and the magic in the world around him, something he called “the sweet taste of life.” His warm demeanor was infectious, his booming laugh and radiant smile were contagious, and his kind tone and friendly greetings were a comfort to the ear and the heart.   Lew had an innate and experiential wisdom that enriched any conversation and provided those who knew him with good advice and/or life lessons. Above all, he had an ineffable love for his family, and he never tired of telling people how blessed he was to have them. All members of the family will carry that unconditional love forward in their hearts, ~ always. He also loved the people around him, and he left this world richer in love and positivity, which his children and grandchildren hope will live on in all who knew him.  

Lew was preceded in death by the love of his life of 45 years, Geraldine “Deno” K. Jordan, in 2013; two older brothers; Robert J. and Joseph A. Jordan.

There was nothing more important to Lew (Happy Pappy) than his family.  Lew is survived by daughters; Kelly Jordan-Sciutto and husband Mark, Lansdale; Kristie Antalosky and husband Ron, Frackville; sons; Lewis Jordan Jr. and wife Shannon, Ringtown and Shaun Jordan and his wife Tonia, St. Clair; grandchildren; Jay and Alec Sciutto; Cody and Kali Antalosky; Nick, Gwen and Aidan Jordan; brother Frank Jordan and wife Angie; sister; Kathy Verano, Sinking Springs; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to honor Lew’s memory to the Make a Difference Fund, which will allow the family to carry on both Lew and Deno’s passion for making a positive difference in the lives of others; c/o Kristie Antalosky, 6 North Center Street, Frackville, PA  17931.  This fund was established to commemorate the loss of his wife Deno and supports high school scholarships, community organizations, and charities. This fund will continue in honor of Lew and Deno’s memory.

Lew had a deep care for family, friends, and strangers alike; due to the Covid-19 pandemic, his wishes included prioritizing the safety and health of all and avoiding a large gathering at this time. A private interment will be held for his children and grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date when it is safe to gather. The family greatly appreciates all of the outpouring of prayers, love and support from everyone.
