Born in Tower City (Clark’s Valley), she was a daughter of the late S. Hilda Houtz.
Delphine was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Frackville and had strong faith.
She was a graduate of Frackville High School, class of 1950.
Delphine served our community for over 25 years in the nursing field. She took great pride in caring for those in need.
Her passion was cooking. In-addition to family gatherings, she volunteered her culinary skills for many festivities and events held in Frackville at the Methodist Church, the Elks Lodge, and the American Legion.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Philip E. Brill, in 1970; her second husband; John G. Burda, in 2015; a sister Lucille Katilas; brothers Edward Phillips and Delmar Phillips, Sr. and grandson Philip Brill, Jr.
Delphine is survived by a daughter Cynthia Brill, Frackville; a son, Philip Brill, Glen Mills; three grandchildren: Jason Hutira and wife Ann; Tracy Hutira, and Jessica Focht; and one great-grandson: Jack Hutira. Delphine was also survived by a sister Janice Overman and husband John; sister-in-law Barbara Phillips; nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Frackville, at a later date.
