Born July 14, 1923, she was a daughter of the late John, Sr. and Stasia Laurenavage Navitsky.
Anita graduated from the former Frackville High School, class of 1941; she then proceeded to Philadelphia for a career as a secretary. She later moved back home to take over the family business, Big John’s Café, Frackville. She also worked in local factories until her retirement.
Anita loved to travel; she also enjoyed sewing, puzzles, bingo and games shows.
She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Frackville and was a past member of the church choir. She was also a member of the Shenandoah and Frackville Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alex Vinskie, in 1999; a daughter, Janet Covelusky, in 2019; step-son, Leonard Vinskie, in 1994; brother John Navitsky, in 2014; sister, Florence Selconis and infant sister Ruth
She is survived by two daughters; Joanne Selconis, Jonestown and Linda Tomtishen, Cressona; step-son Alex Vinskie, Allentown; four grandchildren; Noelle Zucas; San Francisco; Kim Lucas, Laguna Beach, CA; April Kissinger, Flower Mound, TX; Todd Trynosky, Phoenix, AZ; thirteen great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, in St. Ann’s R.C. Church, Frackville, with Rev. Brian Miller, pastor, as celebrant. Following CDC and PA DOH guidelines with masks and social distancing. Interment will be Annunciation Cemetery, Englewood/Frackville.
