Eugene Prosack

Eugene passed away on 13 March 2020 at homeand was surrounded by his Loved Ones. He was 60 years old. Eugene was primarily raised and educated in Vienna, Virgina. He graduated from James Madison High School and then from George Mason University with a degree in Economics. Professionally, Eugene supported the United States government in the areas of Security and US Air Force Base Closure and Environmental Clean-up programs. He was extremely proud of his critical work as an Intelligence Analyst aiding the United State intelligence community effort focusing on counter Terrorism activities. Eugene played sports in Vienna Youth programs and basketball for James Madison High School. Nicknamed “Hawk” by his High School friends, Eugene loved the sport of basketball and could be found playing local pick-up games at Nottoway Park on weekends. Eugene loved outdoor activities and had a passion for Surf Fishing especially from the beaches of Carolina’s, Maryland and Delaware. We would routinely see pictures of his latest catch along with many stories of those that got away. Eugene enjoyed following college sports and was an avid supporter of the Notre Dame fighting Irish. Eugene will be most remembered as a man of faith, supporting his church and found spiritual comfort from many visits to the National Shrine and Grotto of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton. He donated a generous amount of time to his family, relatives and friends. His focus was always on the happiness of others. Eugene is survived by his partner Bernadette Winters and his mother Frances; siblings Kathleen, Carl, Joan and Hank, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation for Eugene will be held on 16 March from 6-8 p.m. at the Money and King Funeral Home in Vienna, VA. A visitation will be held at Frackville, PA on Tuesday evening, March 17, 6-8 p.m. and again Wednesday morning March 18, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 18, at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Frackville with Rev. Brian Miller as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Casismir’s Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights, PA In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Eugene’s memory to the American Cancer Society

Dear cousin Frances (Fritzi) So very sorry to hear about your son Eugene. And also your husband Henry I only found out about both recent deaths from my occasional reading of the Pottsville Republican.
