Francis J. "Buddy" Leaswitch
Died: May 16, 2016
 

Francis J. “Buddy” Leaswitch, 88, of Frackville, passed away Monday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Allentown.

Born in Mahanoy City, November 8, 1927, he was a son of the late John F. and Lottie Malonusky Leaswitch. 

He attended Delano High School and served in the US Army during WWII with the 349th Infantry Regiment in Italy.

He worked as a welder for the Pegnatti Coal Company and the Sky-Top Coal Company; he last worked for NAPA Auto Parts, Mahanoy City.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish and was active with St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Frackville.  He was also a member of the United Mine Workers Union, the American Legion Post #398, Knights of Columbus, Rev. James A. Hogan Council # 2580, The Friendship Fire Company and a former member of the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #1533, all of Frackville.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years Ann M. Muldowney Leaswitch, in 2001; two sisters; Patricia Leshko and Bernadine Keeting.

Francis is survived by his daughter Kimberley A. Leaswitch, Frackville; a son, Frank J. Leaswitch, Frackville; three brothers; Ray Leaswitch, and Thomas Leaswitch; both of Whitehall and John Leaswitch, Trenton; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning in St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Frackville, with Rev. Robert Finlan, pastor, as celebrant.  Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville.  Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Mahanoy City.
