Charles F. Wagner, 73, of Frackville passed away peacefully early Thursday morning at Ridgeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Shenandoah with his wife Evelyn by his side Born in the former Ashland State Hospital he was raise in Girardville and was a son of the late Charles B. and Marion Carden Wagner. After graduating from Girardville High School he joined the US Marines, and served 8 years in active and reserve duty assignments. A corporal he was last stationed at Camp Lajeune, NC and was an Administrator with Company U, 2nd Battalion, 1st ITR, MCB. Charles worked at the former Hamburg Center for 33 years as a store Keeper supervisor and previously worked at Reading Textiles as a machinist. He was a member of the Marine Corps Coalcracker League, St. Clair, American Legion Post #398, Frackville; the Friendship Fire company, Englewood and the Frackville Senior Citizens. Charles was active with the Frackville Little League for over 20 years as a coach and was a former District Secretary. He was also an avid bowler having joined leagues in both Shenandoah and Pottsville. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and reading historical novels and going to the casinos; he cared for his vehicles with pride and like cruising and entering them in local car shows. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Evelyn Felegi Wagner, Frackville; nephews; Charles J. Wolfgang, Frackville; Lee A Hardin and Joseph W. Hardin; both of Coal Township; great-nieces; Nicole Wolfgang and Jamie L Wolfgang; both of Lavelle; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joann and Joseph Kovalewski, Frackville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary Ann and Mark Hardin, Coal Township; a sister, Margaret Steffanic, Mahanoy Plane. Religious Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville, with Rev. Robert Finlan, as celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 9 to 11 Monday morning. Interment with Military honors will be in St. Joseph’s parish cemetery, Englewood/Frackville. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Charles name to Friendship Fire Company, 147 N. 7th St., Frackville, PA 17931
