James J.
James J. “Jim” Stank, Sr., 74, of Frackville passed away Friday at Schuylkill Medical Center, East Norwegian St. Pottsville. A lifelong resident of Frackville, he was a son of Mary F. Brusiewski Stank and the late Joseph P. Stank. He was a graduate of Frackville High School and graduated from the Study of the Art of Tricology at Barber School in Philadelphia. He served with the US Army Reserves, Tank Division, of the 365th Engineers, Schuylkill Haven. He was the owner of Mr. Jim’s Barber Shop, Frackville for over 56 years until his retirement. Jim was as member of Annunciation BVM Roman Catholic Church, of St. Joseph’s Parish; the Altamont Fire Company; the Rev. James A. Hogan, Knights of Columbus Council #2580, all of Frackville. He was also a member of the Barber’s Association. He was preceded in death by an infant grandson Damien Stank, in 2000 In addition to his mother, Jim is survived by a daughter, Mary Jo Stank, Shenandoah; a son, James J. Stank, Jr., Gilberton; aunts, uncle and many cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday morning at Annunciation BVM Catholic Church, Frackville; Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville. Interment will be in Annunciation Parish Cemetery, Englewood/Frackville.
