Rosemary Walters
 

Rosemary Walters, of Shenandoah, passed away early Friday morning. She was 68 and had battled cancer since 2014.

Born December 9, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Rose and Edward Whitecavage of William Penn.  She was a polio survivor spending time in her childhood in an iron lung.

Nonetheless she graduated from the Cooper High School in 1967 and raised two children.  She was employed at the Debbi Jo and Morgan garment factories.  She also was employed by Hollander Homes. 

Later she returned to school and graduated from the McCann’s School of Business with a degree in medical transcription.  Her last employment was as a library aide at the Shenandoah Valley Public Library.  She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and the family cats.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Lester Stauffer.

She is survived by her son, Joseph, of Frackville, and daughter, Angela, of Shenandoah.  Also surviving are brothers, William Stauffer and Edward Whitecavage, of Girardville, and sister, Lois Shaulis, of Baltimore.  Nieces and nephews.
