Geraldine (Gerri) Ann Ossman, 84, formerly of Frackville, PA and Rutledge, PA passed away peacefully on 23 March at Rose Court Continuing Care at Maris Grove, Glen Mills, PA.
Gerri was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Pruszkiewicz Olszewski.
Gerri was born in 1933 in Frackville and graduated from Frackville High School class of 1951.
She was employed for five years at the Piasecki Helicopter Company which later became the Vertol Aircraft Company and then Boeing. She also worked as an administrative assistant to neighbor Dorothy Marlow, helping her organize information for several editions of her Textbook of Pediatric Nursing.
Gerri dedicated her married life to being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, a member of the Rutledge Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and an elections official for the Borough of Rutledge. She enjoyed playing canasta, creating ceramics, crochet and quilting, refinishing furniture, preserving memories by creating beautiful photo albums and most of all caring for her family.
Gerri is survived by her husband of 59 years Nicholas Ossman, her daughter Theresa Ford, sons David, Nicholas, Joseph and Bernard and 8 grandchildren (Dana, Brienna, David, Zachary, John Joseph, Amelia, Julia and Xavier). Gerri was preceded in death by her son Richard, her sisters Rita Mruk and Cecilia O’Conner and her brother Stanley Olszewski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, 28 March at St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Frackville with Father Robert Finlan as Celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, 48 N. Broad Mountain Ave, Frackville, PA. Interment will be in St. Casimir Cemetery, Mahanoy City.
