Andrew Kovach, 90, a lifelong resident of Frackville, passed away Sunday evening at Lehigh Valley Medical Center-Cedar Crest, Allentown.
Born in Frackville, September 13, 1927, he was a son of the late John and Catherine Muscolic Kovach.
He attended West Mahanoy Township Schools.
He was a US Army Veteran of WWII, having serviced in the European Theatre of Operations.
He was a member of St. Michael Ukrainian Catholic Church, Frackville.
Andrew worked in the maintenance department of the former Metropolitan Mirror and Glass manufacturer until his retirement.
He liked hunting and fishing and enjoyed all outdoor activities.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Mary Ann Powanda, in 2017, He also was the last of 12 siblings having been preceded by 5 brothers and 6 sisters.
Andrew is survived by his wife of 69 years Helen Donchak Kovach, Frackville; a son Andrew Kovach, Jr and his wife Debbie, Allentown; 4 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Parastas Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning at the Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville, with Rev. Petro Zvarych, as celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 9:00 a.m. till time of service at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Michael’s Parish Cemetery, Englewood/Frackville.
