Ann Osatchuck Berencsi, 94, of Pottsville, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning at Golden Living Center – York Terrace, Pottsville.
Born in Pottsville, March 22, 1922, she was a daughter of Late Eva Osatchuck. She attended Branch Township schools and later received her G.E.D.
Ann started her working career on the production line at Kraft Foods in Hillside, NJ, returned home for a short while, where she met her late husband Andrew Berencsi. She moved to Niles, OH and worked in the cafeteria of the Niles School District until her retirement. She moved back to the area to be closer to family and friends.
She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Frackville, and was active with St. Ann’s Catholic Church’s annual festival.
Ann enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family.
She is survived by two sons; Ronald Whalen, Pottsville, with whom she resided, and Robert Whalen and his wife PJ; Cummings, GA; a daughter; Donna Myres and her husband Bob; Warren, OH; two grandchildren; a sister; Kathy Murry and her husband George; Calif.; nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Frackville, with Rev. Robert Finlan, pastor, as celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation with family Saturday morning, from 8:30 till time of Mass at the church. Interment will be in St. Michael’s Ukrainian Cemetery, Englewood. Frackville.
