Alma D. Wassell, 84, of Frackville passed away Saturday evening at Shenandoah Manor Living Community.
Born in Maizeville, January 23, 1932 she was a daughter of the late Charles and Veronica Bendinsky Lapachinsky. She attended Gilberton schools.
Alma worked as a Presser at the former Van Heusen factory, Pottsville and several local garment factories.
She enjoyed her family and watching her children and grandchildren grow and be successful.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph C. Wassell, a daughter; Dolores A. McCauley, sisters; Clara A. Dunelavage and Sister Mary Camille (Dorothy Lapachinsky); four brothers; Chuck, Gene, Fran and Ben Lapachinsky.
Alma is survived by two sons; Joseph and his wife Annette, Madison AL and Edward Wassell, Mahanoy City; 5 grandchildren; David, Janelle, Joseph III, Bernard and Craig; 7 great grandchildren; sister; Alice Sayer, Oley; brother; Joseph Lapachinsky, Christian Brothers, MD; several nieces and nephews.
Religious Services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with family from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Annunciation Cemetery, Englewood/Frackville.
