Dorothy Marie Gera, 58, of Spencer St., Frackville, a resident of Rosewood Nursing Center, Schuylkill Haven, passed on Friday, and is now at peace in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ and our Blessed Mother Mary

Born on April 18, 1958, in Elizabeth, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Dorothy Torbich Gera.

Dorothy Marie is survived by three siblings; a sister, Barbara Ann Darvell and her husband Jerry, Freeland; and two brothers, Michael and John, Frackville; two uncles; Rev. Francis T. Gera, Melbourne, FL, and Albert Torbich, Colliers, W.V.; an aunt Agnes Saunderson, Lake Placid, NY and several nieces and nephews, great-niece and great-nephew and cousins.

Dorothy Marie was a very loving and special Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Great-Aunt and friend.  She graduated from the Schuylkill I.U. 29 and worked various jobs for U.C.P. (Avenues), Pottsville.  She enjoyed the outdoors, people, pets, her bicycle, traveling, bowling, dancing, listening to music, amusement parks and competing in the local Special Olympics.  She especially Loved when her Mother would sing “Our Father” to her.

Dorothy Marie was a devout Catholic and member of St. Mary’s (Dormition of the Mother of God) Byzantine Catholic Church, St. Clair and GCU.  She is now in Heaven where she will have repose, her family and friends will sadly and forever miss her.

Religious Services, Parastas will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville; Divine Liturgy with burial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, St. Clair with Rev. James Carroll, OFM, as celebrant.  Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 8 to 10:30, at the funeral home.  Interment will be St. Michael’s Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
