Rev. Deacon Rovert Kuchta
 Father Deacon Robert (Bobby) Kuchta of York, formerly of Frackville, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning at his residence with his wife by his side.
Born and lived in Frackville most of his life, he was a son of the late John and Margaret (Harvest) Kuchta.  He was a 1958 graduate of Frackville High School.
He proudly served his country in the US Army and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.
He retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania where he worked as a buyer and purchasing agent for multiple state agencies.
He was a former councilman for the Borough of Frackville; a lifetime member of the following organizations; Friendship Fire Company, Englewood, Goodwill Fire Company, the B.P.O. E. Elks Lodge #1533, a past Commander of the American Legion Post #398, all of Frackville; and was a member of the York Township Good Will Fire Company, York.
He studied Theology in Preparation for the Holy Order of Deaconate at Christ the Savior Carpatho Russian Orthodox Seminary, Johnstown, PA.  He was ordained to the Holy Diaconate by the late Metropolitan Nicholas of the American Carpatho Russian Orthodox Diocese of the U.S.A. in the year 2007; He was then assigned to St. Michael the Archangel Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church, St. Clair, where he served for seven years; he then with his wife moved to York to be closer to his daughter and family, in July of 2013. 
Deacon Bob was incardinated into the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, to the Holy Metropolis of Pittsburg under His Eminence Metropolitan Savas; and was assigned to the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, York PA; where he served until his repose.
Pappy had two passions in his life..., his love for the Lord and his family.  He loved spending time fishing & swimming with his grandchildren, socializing and making friends wherever he went, & collecting baseball hats/T-shirts of any sports team known to man (however, He was a die-hard Miami Dolphin fan).   He loved polka dancing, going on vacations with the love of his life, Marie; and he looked forward to his annual fishing trips to Potter County with his best friend Norb Turnbach. 
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Barbara Challenger & a brother; Rev. Archpriest Father John Kuchta.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marie Yatcilla Kuchta; daughter Marie Ann Reba and Husband Joseph; son in Law Bret Challenger; five grandchildren; Joe, Natalie and Rachel Reba; Daniel and Christie Challenger; a sister Margie Orris and husband J.R., sister in Law Helen Kuchta & many nieces and nephews;
Religious Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning at St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church, St. Clair, with Rev. Fr. Andrew Tsikitas as celebrant; of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, York;
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning at the church.  Interment with Military Honors will be in Holy Ascension Orthodox Cemetery, Englewood/Frackville.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Deacon Robert's name to St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church; 106 N. Morris St., St. Clair, PA  17970 and/or the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 2500 Pine Grove Rd., York, Pa  17403.
