Paul E. Elsavage, 73, of Frackville passed away suddenly Thursday morning at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian St., Pottsville where he was a patient since Friday. Born in Bowmans, Mahanoy Township, August 6, 1941, he was a son of the late August and Anna Koback Elsavage He was a graduate of the former Mahanoy Township High School and he attended the North Schuylkill Vo-Tech for electrical classes. Paul last worked as a maintenance mechanic for the Truth Hardware Company, Hazelton for 20 years before his retirement. He was an active member of St. John the Baptist Polish National Catholic Church, Frackville, he helped set-up and grated potatoes for the monthly bleenie sales. He was a member of the B. P. O. E Elks Lodge #1533 and a social member of the Goodwill Hose Company, both of Frackville. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching NASCAR racing. He and his wife enjoyed going to the local casinos. You would see Paul at the Hess Express where he enjoyed a cup of coffee or at local car shows with his 1959 corvette. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother; Eugene Elsavage. Paul is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sandra A. Halaburda Elsavage, Frackville; a son; Ronald P. Elsavage and his wife Wendy, Pottsville; a daughter Angela Elsavage, at home, Frackville; a granddaughter; Abigail Elsavage and step-granddaughter; Kaitlyn Calvert; a sister; Ann Spieles, Traverse City, Mich; and a brother; Edward Elsavage, Dauphin, PA; numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday morning in St. John the Baptist Polish National Catholic Church, Frackville, with Rev. Robert P. Plichta, as celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the church Monday morning. Interment will be in St. John’s Parish Cemetery, West Mahanoy Township/Frackville. Donations can be made in Paul’s name to St. John the Baptist Church Memorial Fund and Mass Cards will be available at the church, 414 W. Oak St., Frackville, PA 17931.
