Jean S. Dillman
Jean (DiJinio) Dillman, 85, formerly of Frackville passed away on December 16, 2014 in Dayton, OH. Jean was a lifelong resident of Frackville until 2010 when she moved to Dayton to live with her daughter Diane and son-in-law Dave. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Bob Dillman , who died on July 27, 1997.
 
Jean was born on November 21, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Louis and Rose Russell Dijinio. Jean was one of six children and was preceded in death by her brothers Angelo, Louis, John, and Joseph and is survived by her sister Rose Flamini.
 
Jean graduated from Frackville High School in 1947 and went on to nurses training at the Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing where she received her RN degree in 1950. She went on to work at Pottsville Hospital for several years until her children were born. She continued to be a caregiver for family and friends throughout her life, and was an active member of the Frackville Senior Citizens, Golden Tones Choir, and served as the chaplain of the Senior Citizens for 11 years. She also volunteered for the Frackville Meals on Wheels Organization for many years. Jean was a Christian, and was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and Blessed Theresa’s of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City.
 
In May 2014, Jean moved to the Oak Creek Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation in Center in Kettering, Ohio. She enjoyed many activities at the center including Bingo, Dice, Wii Bowling, Horse Races, Concerts, Crafts, and birthday parties for the residents. She was loved and admired by the excellent nursing staff and aides who cared for her in her final days.
 
Jean is survived by her daughter, Diane and son-in-law Dave Bechtel of Dayton, OH, her son Bob and daughter-in-law Judy of Lenexa, KS, granddaughter Kristi Dillman Kurtz and her husband Travis of Paola, KS, grandson Jeffrey Dillman of Tustin, CA, grandson Andrew and his wife Amanda Bechtel and their family in Medina, TN, granddaughter Ashley and her husband Eric Bausch and their family in Medina, TN and granddaughter Angie and her husband Bobby Singh and their family in Englewood, OH. Jean dearly loved her three great grandchildren, Beckett Kurtz, Aubrey Wiley, and Alex Singh. She is also survived by nieces and nephews throughout the US.
 
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 pm Saturday at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church in Frackville. Interment will follow at the GreenwoodCemetery in Frackville. Family and friends may begin calling at 11:30 am Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jean’s memory may be made to the Activities Fund at Oak Creek Terrace Nursing Home and RehabilitationCenter at 2316 Springmill Road, Kettering , OH45440 or Vitas Innovative Hospice at 3055 Kettering Blvd, Suite 400, Dayton, OH45439.
