Margaret C. Lorady Zamonsky, 89, of Frackville passed away peacefully Monday at Broad Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Frackville.
Born in Raven Run, December 16, 1924, she was a daughter of the late James and Irene Wagner Lorady. She was a graduate of West Mahanoy Township High School.
She was a member of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Frackville and worked as a sales person at the former J.C. Penny’s, Shenandoah.
Margaret was a member and past Director of the Union of Polish Women in America, and elected Most Valuable Member in 1967. She is also a member of the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America, St. Ann’s Ladies Guild; and in 1976 she was President of the Frackville Centennial Belles.
She served as a Pennsylvania Empowered Expert Resident (P.E.E.R) at the Broad Mountian Nursing & Rehabilitaiton Center, Frackville.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years John J. Zamonsky in 2003,
And ten brothers and sisters.
Margaret is survived by three sons; Stanley J. Zamonsky and his wife Deborah, Pine Bush, NY; John C. Zamonsky, San Francisco, CA, and Thomas J. Zamonsky and partner David Hendrickson, Londonderry, NH.; three grandchildren; Stanley J. Zamonsky, III and wife Aubrey; Katie Zamonsky and Corey Zamonsky; three great grandchildren; Cody, Brinley and Silvana Zamonsky; two sisters; Dolores Kowalick and Irene Fatula; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning in St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Frackville. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 6 -8 p.m. Friday evening at the Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville and again Saturday morning from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Annunciation BVM Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
