John P. Navitsky
John P. “Big John” Navitsky, 87, of Apache Juction, AZ, formerly of Frackville, passed away Tuesday in Sun City West, AZ.
 
Born in Frackville he was a son of the late John and Anastasia Laurenavage Navitsky. 

He was a U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force Veteran having served in the Navy during WWII and served two hitches in the Air Force during the Korean War. He played Professional Football while in the service for Army and the Air force.

He was a past member of the American Legion Post #398 and the B.P.O. Elks Lodge #1533, Frackville and was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.

John owed and operated the former “Big John’s Café” in Frackville and enjoyed Arizona’s weather and playing golf.
He was preceded in death by his companion of 35 years Bessie Mastella; two sisters; Florence Selconis and Ruth Navitsky and a cousin, Walter Sklaris.

John is survived by a sister Anita Vinskie, Frackville two cousins Edward and Mary Sklaris, Frackville and Mary Cojean, North Haledon, NJ; three nieces, Joanne Selconis, Jonestown, Linda Tomtishen and Janet Covelusky, Frackville; three grandnieces Kim Lucas, Laguna Beach, CA; April Kissinger, Flower Mount, TX and Noelle Zukas, San Francisco, CA; Grandnephew Todd Trynosky, Phoenix, AZ; 5 great grandnieces and 5 great grandnephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville. Gravesite Services with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
