Adeline M. (Kowker) Markowski, 82, of Lexington, KY, formerly of Frackville passed away peacefully Thursday with her family by her side at the home of her sister, Amelia in Hershey.
 
Born in Frackville, October 1, 1931 she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Oldinsky Kowker. 
 
She was a 1949 graduate of the former West Mahanoy Township High School.
 
She was a member of Annunciation BVM Catholic Church, Frackville and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
 
She was a dedicated volunteer with Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Schuylkill County, for which she was the recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award for 2010. She volunteered at Broad Mountain Manor Nursing Home, Frackville.
 
Adeline worked as a presser in local Garment Factories and also worked at the former General Cigar factory, Mahanoy City.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband Simon “Sam” Markowski, in 2000; sister Eleanor Zink, infant sisters; Agnes, Geraldine, Ann Marie and Theresa Kowker; four brothers, Edward, John Jr., Leonard and Walter Kowker.
 
Adeline is survived by a daughter Maxine Dusel and her husband Martin, Lexington, KY; son Stanley Markowski, Harrisburg; grandchildren Brian Dusel, Michelle Dusel and Daniel Markowski; sister Amelia Niccolini, Hershey; brother William Kowker, Gilberton; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning in Annunciation BVM Catholic Church, Frackville, with Rev. Ronald Minner, as celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 6 – 8 p.m. Monday evening and again from 9 – 10 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville. Interment will be in Annunciation Parish Cemetery, Englewood/Frackville.
 
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Broad Mountain Manor Patient Activities, 500 W. Laurel St., Frackville, PA 17931 and/or the Hospice of Central Pennsylvnia, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

y Husband Robert J. Gallup was a patient at Broad Mt Manor and Adeline was a volunteer at the home. She was always great with all the patients My sympathy to her family.
